They provided the answer to thepioneer’s need for a safe and sturdy home that an ordinaryfamily could build quickly. They had dirt floors and slidingboards for windows. But the log buildings that have probablyhad most influence on modern architects are those of themountain retreats of wealthy New Yorkers. These countryhouses which were popular in the early 1900s typify what’sknown as the Adoroundyx style.
