2. Many teachers try to make learning more interesting and meaningful for their students. Some are more successful at this than others. 46      Granger teachers a popular visual arts course at a high school in the U.S. Each year, he challenges his students to design practical solutions to real-world problems. He also provides them with the tools that they need to reach their goals. 47 Using his method, students are able to progress step by step from the idea stage, to the design stage and finally to production.      48 In recent years, his students have come up with designs that make a real difference in people’s lives. One is a beach chair that disabled people can set up and use by themselves. 49      Granger’s impact has been felt both inside and outside his classroom. Many of his students have discovered creative abilities in themselves that they never knew existed. 50
