問題詳情

Juliane was a German teenager who lived in South America. In 1971, she was studying in high school in Lima, the capital of Peru. On Christmas Eve she took a flight with her mother, a well-known scientist. They were going to visit Juliane's father, a German biologist working in a remote town called Pucallpa. Half an hour after take-off, the plane ran into a storm and came crashing down in the Amazon rainforest.   Despite falling 3,000 meters, Juliane survived the crash, the only passenger to do so. She had fallen to earth strapped in her seat, and only received a few injuries. She searched for her mother but could not find anyone. Juliane had spent years in the forest with her parents. Her father had taught her how to stay alive in it. She knew that if she found a stream it would lead to a bigger river, where she might find help.   Juliane spent nine days wandering through the forest. She followed a river and was eventually found by men who were cutting trees. They took her by boat to a hospital, where her father came to find her. Now, Juliane is a successful biologist in Germany. She does research into bats and other animals.
