問題詳情

At least once in your life, you have probably received a chain letter. In the past, they were sent by post. Today, you are much more likely to receive these letters by e-mail. The main idea of chain letters is to be sent on to everyone you know. Chain letters often promise you good luck, or even money, if you pass them on. Sometimes chain letters tell you that you will have bad luck if you don’t forward them to everyone you know! Besides, the messages in them are usually untrue. They certainly cannot bring you luck, good or bad.Chain letters are a kind of “spam,” or junk mail. Spam is e-mail from people you do not know, and it is a problem for most people with an e-mail address. “Spammers” can use chain letters to get thousands of e-mail addresses. Then they send e-mails that advertise anything from watches to medicine in the hope that some people will buy their goods. Some people do! Otherwise the spammers would not bother. The best thing to do when you see spam in your mailbox is to delete it without opening it. Even if you decide to read it, don’t forward it. A good rule to follow is: if you’re in doubt, don’t send it out (Adopted from [Quan Fang Wei Gao Zhong Ying Wen Zong Fu Xi], pp. 186-7. San Min Publications Ltd., 2008).
