There were many reviews that said it was not good for teenagers because some parts in it were mean andevil. That lead it to getting a bad name, and one teacher that taught the book even got fired.Holden Caulfield, the main character in the novel, had a lot of problems. He not only used bad words, but also didn’t careabout school. What’s more, he did many things that were bad and stupid and even ran away from home. People back then werescared of students following his example. They didn’t understand that the book was just a story about growing up and howteenagers often felt alone, angry, and afraid.
