四、閱讀測驗 (10%)<A>    On account of overfishing, large fish as well as other marine creatures are at risk ofextinction. Fishermen use boats to drag large nets, often tens of meters wide, in order tocatch sea life more efficiently and get it to market. Bycatch, the extra stuff caught in the nets, often includes endangered sea turtles. Damage is also caused to coral reefs, which are hometo a wide variety of marine life.Marine scientists say that the biggest challenge is the problem of policing the oceans. Most of the ocean does not lie within the control of international law. This puts the pressureon individuals and conservation groups to educate people about the threats to our ocean.A 2012 study done by a team of 17 scientists from eight nations recommends a strategyto end overfishing called “comanagement.” It involves a partnership between government, conservation organizations, and fishermen. More than half the fishermen in comanagedareas feel that it has had a positive effect on their lives, as it makes their fisheries moresustainable.   Consumers can also do their part when purchasing fish. Talk to the fish seller and askabout what you are buying. Are the fish caught using methods that can be sustained? Also, try to eat more fish from the bottom of the food chain and avoid eating predatory fish thatare at the top of the chain. All in all, solutions for sustainability still need to be found beforethe future of ocean fishing is sunk.
