Former K-M-T lawmaker - Diane Li - was indicted yesterday on charges of fraud andforgery. According to prosecutors, Li deliberately concealed her U-S citizenship while holdingpublic office - in violation of the Nationality Act prohibits, which bans government officialsfrom holding dual citizenship - and collected over 100-million N-T dollars in wages illegallyduring her terms as a city councilor and lawmaker. Prosecutors say that Li knowingly concealed her duel nationality status when completingregistration forms enabling her to run as a Taipei City Councilor in 1994 and again during herthree terms as a legislature from between 1998 and 2009. Li stepped down in January of this year following publication of details of her U-S taxstatus in the popular weekly magazine - Next - late last year. Speaking to reporters yesterday, Li's lawyer said that his client does not accept theindictment and is confident that the court will find her not guilty
