C.You can’t go to Cambodia without visiting Angkor Wat, which is the biggest temple in the world. More than 100 small temples were built here. People believe that it was built in the 14th century, and it took 35 years to be built. Many people want to know more about this magic place. Visitors are becoming more and more, from fewer than 10,000 visitors in 1993 to 2,000,000 people in 2007.The modern name, Angkor Wat, means "Temple City" or "City of Temples." It was believed that there were about 20,000 people living there then. Angkor Wat was first discovered by a French biologist Henri Mouhot in 1860. He went to Cambodia to study tropical animals, like snakes and elephants, and found in a forest this amazing temple, which was surrounded by a fosse. It was magnificent, beautiful and large. The most famous are the three big towers on the front. Since then, Angkor Wat has been called one of the wonders of the world. In 1863, Cambodian government even changed its national flag, and Angkor Wat is shown on Cambodian flag.
