問題詳情

(38 〜40)     The Swiss-made solar-powered aircraft Solar Impulse 2 took off from Abu Dhabi on March 9 in a historic attempt to be the first flight around the world without any fossil fuel. The 35,000 km journey will take 25 flight days over five months.     The Solar Impulse 2 (Si2) has a wingspan of 72 m—larger than a Boeing 747. It has 17,248 solar cells built into the wings to transfer solar energy to four motors that power the plane’s propellers.    The Si2 weighs about 2,300 kg, about as much as a mid-sized truck. To catch the sun’s rays, the plane will fly at about 8,500 m during the day and dip to about 1,500 m at night. The Si2 is flying first to Muscat, Oman. It will have two stops in India, and then wait in China for a month until the days are longer, to catch more of the sun,s energy. It will also stop in Myanmar, and three places in the US: Hawaii, Phoenix, and New York city. The path over the Atlantic will depend on the weather.  ★attempt 試圖★ fossil fUel 石油燃料★wingspan 翼展★ propeller 螺旋槳
