Greta Thunberg, the 16-year-old girl who inspired(鼓勵) millions of young people to take action against(對抗) climate change, has been named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year for2019.
At a TEDx speech in November 2018, Thunberg said that she first heard about climate change at the age of 8, but she could not understand why people did so little about  it . There was too much CO2. It kept making the world hotter and hotter. At age 11, she said: “I feel like I am dying inside if I don’t protest(反對).”
In August 2018, Thunberg started “Fridays for Future”. Each Friday, while other students sat in their classrooms, she sat outside the Swedish Parliament(瑞典國會) to make people notice climate change. Soon, students from around the world joined her.
Until now, more than 4 million people joined “Fridays for Future” to push world leaders to act on climate change. She siad, “I kept telling the adults that they were stealing(偷) our future. That is why children and teenagers need to stand up and fight for our earth. ”
Greta Thunberg teaches people that on one is too small to make a difference to the world. Everyone should care more for the warmer earth and be friendly to it. Face the problem together and take actions in our everyday life!
