(G) UniversiadeThe name is a combination of the words University and Olympiad. In fewer than six years,there’ll be a great sport event in Taiwan. In 2011, Taipei won the ticket to host the 2017 SummerUniversiade. It is the second-largest of world sport events, second only to the Olympic Games.Taiwan has tried four times to host it but failed all of them. This time, we tried again for hostingthe 2017 Summer’s. There were other countries that tried to bid for it, such as Brazil and Turkey.However, Turkey decided to withdraw from the competition. In the end, Taiwan won over Brazil.It’s really good news for us. The table below lists the host cities from year 2011 to 2017.
