Discourse Structure篇章結構: (10%)     “The Darwin(達爾文) Awards” are a humorous collection of true stories about the strange ways people died. ____36.____ These examples of “black humor” share one important element─the “winners” were doing something surprisingly stupid that caused their death. Often these characters are adventurers or risk-takers who keep having “difficulty” differentiating(辨別) between danger and safety. ____37.____     For example, a man was driving at high speed, taking his girlfriend to work. She wanted him to hurry, and joked that she could walk faster than he was driving. She then opened the door, stretched out her feet, and fell to her death. In another case, a young man was hiking with friends. He thought it would be fun to slide down the face of a mountain. A giant rock slide followed. ____38.____ In 2000, winners included “a woman who slept on the roof, two friends shooting beer cans off each other, and six men sailing in a two-man boat.”    ____39.____ Soon she published them on a website and later wrote books on them. There are now over 250 stories. Named after Charles Darwin, creator of the theory of evolution (演化論), these awards honor those who improve the human race by removing themselves from the gene pool. ____40.____
