There are at least two forms of poetry.   51Poetry, and discussions of it, have a long history.   52 Later endeavor concentrated on features such as repetition, verse form and rhyme, and emphasized the aesthetics which differentiate poetry from prose. From the mid-20th century, poetry has sometimes been more loosely defined as a fundamental creative act using language.Poetry often uses particular conventions to expand the literal meaning of the words, or to increase emotional or sensual responses. The sounds of the poetry play an important role.   53 It is a musical quality produced by the repetition of stressed and unstressed syllables. Moreover, poetry's use of imagery, symbols and other elements often offer different ways of explanation.   54 For example, saying “life is a riddle” is better than “life is hard to understand.Some forms of poetry are specific to particular cultures and genres.   55 That is why we can see modern Chinese poems written in the style of Japanese Haiku.
