問題詳情
<B> According to many experts, the precursors to modern comics were the satirical works of artists like Rudolphe Töpffer,Wilhelm Busch, and Christophe. In 1837, Switzerland's Rudolphe Töpffer published The Adventures of Obadiah Oldbuck, which is considered the earliest known comic book. In 1842, it became the first comic book published in the United States.Töpffer's sequentially illustrated stories, with the text compartmentalized below the images, are considered influential inshaping the comics form. In 1865 Wilhelm Busch, published a famous comic called Max und Moritz in a German newspaper.Busch refined the conventions of sequential art, and his work was a key influence within the form. The 1895 The Yellow Kid created by Richard Outcault in the United State has often been cited as being the first comicstrip as Richard Outcault was the first artist to use the balloon, an outlined space on the page where what the characters spokewas written. His work in combining speech balloons and images on The Yellow Kid has been credited as establishing the formand conventions of the comic strip. Although this view is being revised by current academics, who are uncovering many otherworks which combine speech bubbles and a multi image narrative, the popularity of Outcalt and the position of the strip in anewspaper are credited as being the driving force of the form. On June 19, 1940, Brenda Starr, the first cartoon strip written bya woman, was published in Chicago.Early American comic books were often collections of reprints of newspaper comic strips. Originally the term comic stripwas used to apply to any sequence of cartoons, regardless of the venue of publication or the length of the sequence, but now, mainly in the United States, the term refers to the strips published in newspapers. The 1920s and 1930s in the United States hadseen newspaper strips expand their subject matter beyond humor, with action, adventure and mystery strips launched. Thecollection of such material also began, with The Funnies, a reprint collection of newspaper strips, published in tabloid size in1929.
