    John Denver was an American country music singer who loved nature very much. He even changed his surname from Deutschendorf to "Denver" after the capital of his favorite state, Colorado, whose natural wonders inspired(激勵) many of his best-loved songs. He earned it by hard work. In 1969, in order to sell his first album, Denver toured the country, stopping in many towns and cities and offering to play free concerts. He often showed up at local radio stations, guitar in hand, and hoping for an interview. After several months of touring, he had sold enough albums to convince(說服) his record company to extend(延長) his recording contract(合約).
