According to the fourth World Happiness Report published by the United Nations on March 17,2016, Demark is found to be the happiest country in the world, followed by Switzerland , Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Canada. The United States is placed 13rd while Taiwan is placed 35th on the list compared with 156 countries in the world.     The report shows that people who live in the happiest countries tends to live longer and have more social support and life choices. People of the happiest countries are more generous and have higher incomes. The least happy countries included Togo, Burundi, Syria, Benin, and Rwanda where people are fighting and there is corruption, poverty and war.     Bhutan, a tiny country located in South Asia, also known as the land of happiness proposed the idea of a World Happiness Day to the United Nations. In 2012, the United Nations declared March 20 as “World Happiness Day” in settling happiness and well-being as universal goals. The happiness report shows that well-being and happiness are key factors of a nation’s economic and social development.
