The movement to abolish capital punishment is likely to gain heavy opposition from the public. According to a recent poll, up to 80% of Taiwan's residents oppose abolishing the death penalty. The majority hold that bad guys should get what they d___9___e.This issue would remain a c__10__t between people who are for and against it, because Asian societies have traditionally favored death penalty. Among developed nations, only the US, Japan, and South Korea retain the death penalty.
