“Just do it” is one of the most well-known company slogans in the world. It belongs to the Nike Corporation, which makes popular sneakers,running shoes and sportswear.
      Nike Inc. was started in 1972 in Beaverton, Oregon by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. It grew into a huge corporation that was famous for its sports shoes and the way it did business. It used a new style of advertising that made it very popular and paid many famous sportsmen and women to wear its clothing. People like Tiger Woods, Ronaldo and Michael Jordan wear Nike sportswear when playing their sport.
      Nike faced many problems, however.
      One of the first problems was that Nike shoes were originally made by children who worked in
factories in South-East Asia. They were treated badly and they were paid very little. When this was
discovered, Nike was embarrassed and many people would not buy Nike products. The company was
also accused of stealing a Beatles song as well as other songs and names that they used in their
advertising.
