Far from it: He dropped out of Reed College after onlysix months. Steve Jobs made this decision partly because he spurned the idea of“required” courses. All his life he resisted anyone telling him what to do. But morefundamentally, his college tuition was going to eat up all the money his parents hadsaved. Dropping out of college was a scary decision, but Jobs felt that he had to followhis interests and natural intuition. Eighteen months after dropping out, in that luckytime when working with computers was a limitless field of creativity, Jobs was in hisfamily’s garage working with his friend to invent Apple. Their passion and dedicationmet with success.   However, a power struggle within the board of directors ended with Steve Jobsbeing pushed out of his own company. It was a devastating moment for Jobs, but heonce again experimented in an open field. During this period, he had some brilliantfailures that turned into amazing successes. Against all odds, one of his new companies,Pixar, became the most successful computer animation studio in the world. Jobseventually brought back new ideas to save Apple, and created iMac, iPod, iTunes,iPhone, and iPad history. He encouraged young people to keep learning and keepexploring by giving the advice, “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.”
