問題詳情

Life has been compared to many things. It has been called a roller coaster by some, while Forrest Gump once said that life was like a box of chocolates. Yet, Susan Dunn, a writer, believes that life is more like the sea.     For example, life, like the sea, can be calm and beautiful. However, at times it can also be rough and stormy. Both are always changing. Therefore, as you sail along through life, Dunn says to remember that you are the captain of your ship. In other words, you are in charge of your life. But you are not alone. You also need a good crew of family, friends, and teachers to help you on your journey.      Dunn believes you should also have a chart. In sailing, a chart tells you where you have been and helps you plan where you want to go. In life, you also need a chart to remember what you’ve done and to set goals for what you want to do. Besides, every ship should have life vests. Emergencies always seem to happen when you least expect them, and being prepared for them is always a good idea, in life and in sailing. Faith and an optimistic attitude are two excellent lifesavers.      Finally, Dunn believes that just as stormy seas have waves, our lives also have ups and downs. Without a doubt, all of us will come across waves, or problems, in our lives. A ship cannot outrun a wave, so running away from a problem does not work. If you try to fight the wave, you will probably sink. However, if you turn to face the wave and learn how to ride it, you will survive—and might even have fun! Thus, to truly enjoy life, do as Susan Dunn says and learn to ride the waves when the sea becomes stormy.
