Every country has fortune-tellers—people who say that they can see into a person’s future.It is well-known that the fortune-tellers of Gypsy usually see one’s future in the crystal ball.In some countries, fortune-tellers read a person’s palm. We call them palm readers. There arelines across the palm and lines down the palm. One line tells a palm reader if and when aperson will marry. Another line tells how long that person will live. The others tell otherthings. Some fortune-tellers “read” cards, like tarot cards. They say they can tell a lot about aperson’s future life by looking at the magical cards. Many Chinese use I Ching to find out theirfutures. First, the person asks a question, throws some coins and looks at the way they fall.Then the fortune-teller reads I Ching to find out what the coins mean. It’s human nature that we want to know our futures. That’s why fortune-telling is stillvery popular. However, no matter what the fortune-teller says, we should remember hard workis the key to success.
