        Christmas Celebrations Around the World
      There are many fascinating ways to celebrate Christmas. The tradition can be quite different around
the world.
      In Japan, it is a big tradition to have Kentucky Fried Chicken(KFC) and cake at Christmas. The
tradition began in 1970 when KFC strongly promoted it as the festive thing to eat on Christmas.
      In Greenland, some people eat Kiviak, a local dish where they stuff little birds into a seal skin and let
it ferment for months. In Germany, it is a tradition for children to find the hidden pickle on the Christmas
tree. The child who found the pickle will be blessed with a special gift or good luck for the next year. In
the Czech Republic and many Central European countries, carp is served as the main dish on Christmas. It is a tradition to keep a live fresh carp in the bathtub before Christmas.
      In Australia, Christmas is celebrated in the summertime—people often have a barbecue on the beach.The annual traditions are some of the best parts about Christmas. What is your Christmas tradition? (翰林)
