問題詳情

Many people believe in luck. Some Europeans believe that iron brings good luck, so they hang horseshoes on theirwalls. Some Japanese shop owners think that cats bring good fortune, so they put Maneki-neko in front of their stores. People havedone a lot of things to make themselves luckier, but can people make their own luck? British scientists did a study to find out theanswer. In the study, there were two groups. The people in group one saw themselves as lucky people and group two sawthemselves as unlucky people. Then, both of the groups were asked to count photos in a newspaper to see which group can tell howmany photos there were first. In fact, the answer was already on the second page of the newspaper. Group one saw the answer andstopped counting earlier than the other group. They believed that they were lucky to find out the clues first while the other groupwas still counting hard. From the study, the scientists conclude that the people in group one win the contest not because they are luckier butbecause they are more open to different possibilities and usually think positively. People who think they are lucky usually look onthe bright side when bad things happen and try to turn bad luck into good fortune. Do you want to have good luck? Don’t just sitback and wait for it.
