問題詳情

2.Next to water and tea, coffee is the third most popular drink in the world. If you walked into a Paris café, a British pub, or an American truck stop, you would see people sipping coffee. Coffee drinking is more popular in Europe and the United States. Especially in Finland, its consumption of coffee is the highest in the world. Yet, in recent years, coffee drinking is gaining popularity in Asia as well.  Though a coffee bean is about the size of a peanut and has little nutritional value, people still like coffee because of its taste and stimulating effect, due to the high content of caffeine. Over the years, coffee has become associated with social interaction and intellectual conversation, made popular by the expansion of coffee shops around the world.  Today there are many fancy variations (變化) of coffee drinks available such as mochas, lattes, and cappuccinos made with the addition of ingredients such as chocolate, espresso, and milk. Flavored coffees made with the addition of vanilla, caramel, or fruit flavorings are also popular.  There are many legends about the origins of the coffee plant. Most historians believe it was discovered in Ethiopia more than 1200 years ago and quickly spread to the Middle East, Europe, and other parts of the world. Today, coffee is a billion dollar industry with Brazil as the world’s leading producer of coffee beans.
