(4) The most unusual airplane in the world is a kind of “flying hospital.” The name of the plane is Project Orbis. Most were very poor, and could notafford to pay for medical help. A part of the plane had been turned into an operating room. Dozens of doctors from Peru watched theeye operations. After the doctors learned how to do the operations, they performed many themselves.    Alex had been blind for 16 years. He needed a cornea transplant. The cornea is the part of the eye that admits light. Sometimes the cornea becomes damaged so that light cannot enter. If the diseased cornea is replaced with a healthy one, sight can be restored.Two days after his operation, Alex was able to see again. Project Orbis had brought him the gift of sight.
