Since she was introduced to Wu by an editor from Vogue magazine, she has worn clothes designedby him on many important occasions. She donned Wu’s designs during President Obama’s first inauguration*, on the cover of Voguemagazine, on an official European trip, and at the 2013 inaugural ball*.  Born in Taipei in 1982, Wu was drawn to fashion at an early age. Unlike other boys, Wu was fond of playing with dolls and looking atwedding dresses. His mother noticed his talent, and decided to give him a better learning environment. When Wu was nine, he and his familymoved to Vancouver, Canada, where he learned how to sew and draft patterns*. At the age of 16, he was hired by Integrity Toys to createdolls’ outfits and was promoted to creative director in the following year. Not satisfied with being a famous designer of doll clothes, Wuentered Parsons School of Design in New York City to learn more.
